Sometimes when a person has a disabilty, it is a little harder to follow a hobby or keep in touch with friends. It maybe that the person who normally cares for them doesn’t have the same interest or the energy or the time to give.
West Lancs Positive Living provides a range of activities that enable people with a learning disability to have a social life, whilst providing their parents and carers with a short break. Having your own friends and interests is part of living an
indepenent lifestyle and helps people to become more independent and confident. Joining in our activities is a way to get
to know if you will like to be supported by us. You will get to know the way we work, our ethos and our values and we
will learn how best to support you.
People can join in activities with their own support staff or they can be supported by West Lancs Positive Living staff. All our staff are well trained and CRB checked and before each person joins us our co-ordinator will visit to ensure that we can provide the support you need to enjoy yourself.
Each month we provide a programme of activities that our members can choose from. Costs are heavily subsidised
leaving just a small charge for people to pay.
If you are on Facebook we have a group page- West Lancs Positive Living, why not have a look and join if you are one of our users. Its is looked after by one of our staff members. It has latest news and photos amongst other things.
Having fun with friends is part of a healthy lifestyle – we expect nothing less for the people we support.
